COVID 19 has negatively impacted economies in Southern and Eastern Africa. Unlike some more developed countries where businesses have received support from their respective governments – in our target economies the governments have given very little to no support for businesses. Most of the financial lifelines have come from Development Financial Institutions.

At Monica Capital we believe that there are many businesses in our region which are viable but need help financially and operationally to achieve their potential. Our staff are close to these businesses as we have 4 offices in the Southern/Eastern African region, which allows us to tailor our advice to the specific country. Our company has experience in the region with distressed investments, turnarounds and restructuring, and this will allow us to ascertain which businesses are viable in a COVID-impacted environment despite being distressed.
